Luka Modric returns to training with Real Madrid teammates

Real Madrid confirm that Luka Modric has returned to training today following three months out with a thigh injury.

Real Madrid have confirmed that Luka Modric returned to training today following three months on the treatment table with a thigh injury.

The 29-year-old suffered a muscle tear while playing for Croatia in their 1-1 draw with Italy in last November's Euro 2016 qualifier.

Today, the Spanish giants confirmed via their official website that Modric trained with his teammates on Thursday, but is unlikely to feature in Sunday's match against Elche.

The midfielder could make his return against Villarreal at the Bernabeu on March 1.
