Real Madrid attacker Mariano Diaz has revealed that he is on the road to recovery after undergoing successful surgery on his fractured nose.
The 28-year-old made his first appearance of the season against Elche on Saturday and played the full 90 minutes of the La Liga affair, providing the assist for Vinicius Junior's first of the match.
Mariano suffered a fractured nose during his team's 2-1 win, though, and has now undergone surgery to correct the issue.
The centre-forward is expected to work alone without the ball for the next 10 days or so before returning to first-team training with a mask.
"Thanks everyone for the messages of support," Mariano wrote on Instagram. "Everything went well. No pain, no gain."
The striker, who has a contract at the Bernabeu until June 2023, has scored 11 times and registered three assists in 63 appearances for his Spanish club in all competitions.
