Marcelo criticises Spanish media

Real Madrid defender Marcelo, who scored in Los Blancos' 3-0 win over Levante on Saturday, claims that the Spanish media are always inventing stories about his team.

Real Madrid defender Marcelo has claimed that the Spanish media are 'always looking for things that are not there' following Los Blancos' 3-0 win over Levante at the weekend.

Marcelo found the back of the net in the comfortable victory in Madrid, but despite a strong start to the season, there has been talk of unrest in the camp.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale are believed to have a strained relationship according to sections of the media, but Marcelo has played down suggestions that there are problems in the dressing room.

"I think we're a fun team to watch. I've been here almost nine years and the truth is that the media always try to find things which aren't there. I'm sure that the media don't know what goes on in the dressing room," Marcelo told reporters.

Real Madrid are currently top of the La Liga table on 18 points despite drawing three of their eight league games this term.
