Croatian midfielder Luka Modric has claimed that he 'cannot see' Real Madrid having another trophyless season this campaign.
Los Blancos, who did not win any silverware under then coach Jose Mourinho last season, have struggled to hit their best form in the early part of the new campaign.
However, Modric is confident that an upturn in form will arrive when the team learn to become "more compact".
"We started well but lost something during the international break," he told Sportske Novosti. "We need to be more compact, we have to attack and defend with less of a gap between the lines. I can't see us having another trophyless season.
"[Carlo] Ancelotti transmits an air of calm to the team. I had heard that he was a very temperamental player, but he's a great guy.
"The gaffer wants me to organise the team, define our game and break quickly with the ball, whilst maintaining our defensive balance."
Madrid needed a late Cristiano Ronaldo goal to beat Levante 3-2 at the weekend.
