Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has paid tribute to his players following Saturday's 6-1 win over Real Betis in La Liga.
Los Blancos entered the clash in Seville off the back of three successive league draws and four in all competitions, but returned to winning ways in style courtesy of a brace from Isco and goals from Raphael Varane, Karim Benzema, Marcelo and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Zidane has previously been critical of his team's slow start to matches this season, but the Frenchman has said that he was "very pleased" with the intensity on display against Gus Poyet's outfit.
"I am very pleased. After four draws we had to make a game like that. That was the intensity we needed. There are no small teams but we started strong and it is difficult for the opponent when we start that way," Zidane told reporters.
"Hopefully [the winless run] will not happen again. If we get the intensity of today from the beginning we will lose less points. The players know that it is difficult for the opponent when we play well, but we must continue working as we are."
Real Madrid will return to Champions League action at home to Legia Warsaw on Tuesday night.
