Barcelona had intended to assess the performance of Jamie Vardy during England's friendly with Spain before the Leicester City striker was ruled out through injury, according to reports.
Vardy's scoring exploits for the Foxes have hit the headlines this season, with goals in nine successive Premier League fixtures said to have caught the attention of Real Madrid.
According to the Daily Mail, Real are not the only La Liga giants interested in the development of Vardy, with Barcelona said to have taken note of his recent performances.
It is claimed that the Catalan club had intended to watch Vardy play for England against Spain in Alicante on Friday night before Vardy was withdrawn from the fixture with a minor groin problem.
Barcelona, and Real Madrid, could potentially watch Vardy if he is involved in the friendly international with France on Tuesday evening.
