Danny Ings 'highly unlikely' to join Real Sociedad

Danny Ings is "highly unlikely" to join Real Sociedad this summer, according to club president Jokin Aperribay.

Real Sociedad president Jokin Aperribay has conceded that his side are "highly unlikely" to sign Danny Ings this summer.

The striker, who recently confirmed that he is to leave relegated Burnley on a free transfer, has been tracked by Sociedad head coach David Moyes for a number of months.

However, with reported offers on the table from Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, Aperribay has admitted defeat in the Basque club's pursuit of the England Under-21 international.

"We have monitored him since the winter transfer market, but we have not spoken to Ings's entourage for almost a month now," he told the club's official website.

"I don't think he's an easy candidate to arrive to La Real. He has a lot of offers from England and we will have to wait to see what he decides, but it looks highly unlikely that he will join us."

Aperribay also stressed that Moyes would not be leaving the Anoeta Stadium in the near future, despite speculation to the contrary.
