Roma deny Miralem Pjanic sale

AS Roma deny that they have received an offer which meets the buy-out clause for Bosnian midfielder Miralem Pjanic.

Roma have denied that they have received an offer which meets the buy-out clause for midfielder Miralem Pjanic.

The Bosnian international is believed to have a £30m release clause in his current deal, which runs until the summer of 2018.

Reports in recent days have claimed that Roma have been forced to accept an offer from the Premier League for the 26-year-old, but a statement from the Italian club has branded the rumours "completely groundless".

"AS Roma denies today's report on sportmediaset.it concerning an alleged payment of the buy-out clause in Miralem Pjanic's contract as the story is completely groundless," read a statement from the Serie A side.

The attacking midfielder, who has also been previously linked with Barcelona, has scored 12 times in 40 Roma appearances this season.
