Sinisa Mihajlovic: 'Sampdoria deserved defeat'

Sinisa Mihajlovic says that Sampdoria were beaten by the better team during their 2-0 loss against Napoli.

Sinisa Mihajlovic has admitted that Sampdoria deserved to lose their Serie A match against Napoli.

The Blucerchiati suffered a 2-0 defeat at the San Paolo stadium, but Mihajlovic was pleased at the performance from his team.

"Without doubt Napoli deserved the victory and we have nothing to complain about," Football Italia quotes him as saying.

"It can happen to lose here, but the most important things were the performance and the chances that we managed to create against a strong side like Napoli in their own stadium.

"I have already told the club what we need to do. If we do not achieve our transfer targets, then we'll continue with this group of players and hope to keep improving."

Sampdoria visit Roma in the Coppa Italia on Thursday.
