Barry Bannan says that he is living a dream after being named man of the match in his first competitive start for Scotland.
The Scots beat Lithuania 1-0 at Hampden Park after a cross from Bannan found Steven Naismith early in the second half.
"It's a marvellous feeling," Bannan told Sky Sports News. "This is my first competitive game and after playing in the friendlies to get out there and start at Hampden, it's what dreams are made of."
Darren Fletcher missed a penalty in the first half, and Bannan believes that Scotland should have put a few more away.
"On a good day it would have been three or four and plain sailing from there, but at 1-0 we've defended well and got what we came for."
Scotland will now vie for second place in Group I with Czech Republic, with Spain leading the group on 15 points.
