Report: Southampton agree £7m deal for Idrissa Gueye

Southampton reportedly agree a deal to sign Lille midfielder Idrissa Gueye for £7m as they look to replace Morgan Schneiderlin.

Southampton have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Idrissa Gueye from Lille for £7m.

For the second summer in a row Morgan Schneiderlin has been repeatedly linked with a move away from the club, and both Manchester United and Arsenal are reported to be considering launching bids for the Frenchman.

Ronald Koeman is believed to be planning for a future without Schneiderlin, and France Football claims that the Saints will complete the signing of Gueye when he is eventually sold.

Arsenal and Marseille were both believed to be interested in Gueye, but Southampton have moved first to agree a fee with Lille for the 25-year-old.

Southampton confirmed the arrival of Juanmi as their first signing of the summer on Tuesday.
