Southend United have signed striker Jamar Loza on a one-month loan deal from Premier League side Norwich City.
The 19-year-old was part of the Canaries' Under-18 team that won the FA Youth Cup last season.
Manager Phil Brown told reporters: "I'm pleased to have Jamar with us, he's a quick striker who has a real eye for goal... there has just been a bit of quality missing in the final third in recent weeks, but hopefully he can provide that.
"He's a young lad who will be hoping to make a big impression and he's highly regarded at Norwich.
"In the last two seasons we have seen Britt Assombalonga and Cauley Woodrow come on loan to the club and make an impact... we're hoping Jamar can do exactly the same."
Loza, who has been selected among the substitutes for the Blues' clash away at Bristol Rovers tonight, has previously been on loan at Leyton Orient and Coventry City.
