England manager Roy Hodgson is likely to discover this week if Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Scott Parker will be fit to travel to the European Championships next month.
The former West Ham United captain was named in the Three Lions' 23-man squad following an impressive first season at White Hart Lane.
Despite including the 31-year-old in the Euro 2012 set-up, Hodgson did announce that there were doubts over his fitness due to an Achilles injury, which troubled the playmaker towards the end of the season.
Parker, who captained England against the Netherlands in February, will be replaced by Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson if ruled unfit for the tournament.
