Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho rules out the prospect of managing Bayern Munich one day.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has ruled out the prospect of managing Bayern Munich one day.

The 56-year-old, prior to accepting the Spurs job, was linked with assuming the vacant managerial position at the Allianz Arena.

These links were exacerbated by the fact that during his time away from management, Mourinho had started to take lessons in German.

Speaking on the prospect of managing Bayern one day, Mourinho told Sky Sports News: "I don't imagine myself in Bayern Munich [as manager], only for one reason. I am so happy with my job. I don't look to the next step.

"I think I will leave Tottenham one day when the owner Mr [Daniel] Levy, the supporters and the players want me to leave. I don't think [about] leaving at all."

Mourinho will oversee his first away game in Europe as Spurs boss on Wednesday when he takes a youthful team to face Bayern in the Champions League.

Having sacked Niko Kovac, the Bundesliga champions remain in the hunt for a new permanent boss, with Thomas Tuchel and Erik ten Hag mentioned as two primary targets.
