Roman Pavlyuchenko has slammed Spurs boss Harry Redknapp for saying that the striker has failed to get into the first team because of his poor pre-season preparation.
The Russia international has been unsure of his future at White Hart Lane ever since the summer transfer window, and is growing increasingly frustrated at the lack of opportunities at the London club.
"Several days ago our manager said that I am not part of the first 11 because my pre-season preparations were bad," he said. "This I cannot understand.
"For one thing, throughout the first half of pre-season training, the manager was not with the team – and he couldn't personally see how I prepared myself.
"In training I worked as well as the other players and did my best, not sparing any efforts. As a whole, I think he is not right in his view of that situation."
The 29-year-old joined Spurs from Spartak Moscow in 2008 for a fee of £14m.
