Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood has admitted that he is under pressure to be successful this season.

The 45-year-old took charge of Spurs in January following the sacking of Andre Villas-Boas.

However, Sherwood is aware that he needs to impress amid speculation that current Netherlands coach Louis van Gaal could be installed as the team's new boss after the World Cup.

"There will always be speculation," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

"Until you get a foreign manager of this club, no-one is happy. That is not the view of the club - that is the perception from outside.

"I understand I am under pressure. I have to be honest. But it is not all about experience. I have seen a lot of crap, experienced managers out there."

Tottenham continue their Premier League campaign later today when they host Cardiff City in the Premier League.
