Tottenham Hotspur identify Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez as a potential replacement for Hugo Lloris, according to a report.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly identified Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez as a potential replacement for current number one Hugo Lloris.

The 34-year-old's contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is due to expire next June, and the France international is believed to be considering seeking pastures new ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.

According to The Independent, Spurs are drawing up a shortlist of possible replacements, and the North London outfit are considering a move for Villa's Martinez.

The Argentina international has impressed for Dean Smith's side since arriving from Arsenal in September 2020, penning a four-year contract with the club.

The 29-year-old has made 46 appearances for Villa in all competitions, keeping 18 clean sheets in the process.

Spurs are allegedly aware that it will be difficult to convince their fellow Premier League club to part with the South American considering his form since moving to Villa Park.
