Carlo Ancelotti refuses to talk about Gareth Bale for fear of angering Andre Villas-Boas further.

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has refused to answer questions on the club's bid for Gareth Bale for fear of upsetting Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas.

Villas-Boas claimed at the weekend that Tottenham are due some respect from Madrid, who have courted the winger very publicly.

Now Ancelotti has refused to speak about the reported world record bid.

"I won't speak about Bale," he told reporters. "I have already angered [Villas-Boas] and I don't want to anger another coach. I didn't say anything in particular and I prefer not to talk about this."

Spurs completed the signing of Roberto Soldado for a club-record fee this week.
