Newcastle United have reportedly made a late approach for Tottenham Hotspur attacker Lucas Moura.
The Magpies are believed to be keen to further boost their forward line before the end of the transfer window despite paying a club-record fee to acquire Alexander Isak from Real Sociedad.
According to Football Insider, Eddie Howe's side, who suffered a last-gasp defeat to Liverpool in the Premier League on Wednesday night, have made a late move for Spurs attacker Lucas.
The report claims that Newcastle want to sign the 30-year-old on loan for the 2022-23 campaign, although it is unclear whether there would be a purchase option included in the potential deal.
Lucas, who has a contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, has only played 12 minutes of Premier League football during the current season.
The Brazilian played four minutes against Southampton on the opening weekend of the season before featuring for the final eight minutes against Chelsea on August 14.
Lucas was then an unused substitute against Wolverhampton Wanderers, but he has not been in the squad for the team's last two league encounters against Nottingham Forest and West Ham United.
The former Sao Paulo youngster moved to Tottenham in January 2018, and he has represented the capital outfit on 204 occasions in all competitions, contributing 38 goals and 27 assists in the process.
