Crystal Palace 'put £70m price tag on wantaway winger Wilfried Zaha'

Crystal Palace reportedly put a £70m asking price on wantaway winger Wilfried Zaha after learning that he is keen to push through a move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Crystal Palace have reportedly put a £70m price tag on the head of winger Wilfried Zaha after he told the club that he wants to leave this summer.

Zaha has been heavily linked with a move to a top-six club following a string of impressive performances last season, with Tottenham Hotspur thought to be leading the race for his signature.

Palace are desperate to keep the Ivorian, but The Times reports that he has rejected a new £125,000-a-week contract which would have made him the joint-highest earner at the club alongside Christian Benteke.

The report goes on to claim that Zaha is keen to push through a move to Spurs, although Palace's £70m asking price is thought to be significantly higher than Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is willing to pay.

Spurs could use Moussa Sissoko as a makeweight in any deal, while Everton are also thought to be considering a player-plus-cash swap deal which could take Yannick Bolasie back to Selhurst Park.

Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City have all previously been linked with Zaha too, despite the 25-year-old struggling during his previous spell at a top club when he joined Manchester United in 2013.

Zaha still has four years remaining on his current Palace contract, having signed a new long-term deal just 15 months ago.
