Mauricio Pochettino demands full control over transfers at Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino insists that he has to have full control over the transfers at the club to produce the best results on the pitch.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has demanded full control over transfers at the club.

The Argentine was limited to a few impact moves last summer when he joined the club from Southampton, with the biggest signing being the acquisition of Federico Fazio from Sevilla for £8m.

Pochettino is adamant that he has to have the final say over which players join and leave White Hart Lane to produce the best results on the pitch.

"I think the person who has the final decision should be me, no?" Pochettino told reporters.

"Always the manager and the coaching staff need to deal with the player, in the changing room or on the pitch, and if the feeling is not good between us it is difficult to achieve something.

"It is very important that I agree on the players who stay here and the players who we may bring in and it is my decision. If not; if you bring in some players here and I don't know them, then maybe it is not that they are bad players but the feeling with the coaching staff or the manager is important."

Spurs face Manchester City in the Premier League clash on Sunday.
