Tottenham Hotspur apparently hope to snatch Andre Ayew from the clutches of Roma and have made contact about signing the Marseille star on a free transfer.
Ayew has scored 58 goals in 188 appearances since making his OM debut in 2007, but is expected to leave Stade Velodrome when his contract expires in the summer.
Reports last week claimed that the forward had agreed to join Roma, but French publication Mercato365 has Spurs still in the running as the Serie A giants are not yet guaranteed Champions League qualification.
Mauricio Pochettino is believed to be a fan of the Ghanaian's pace and work ethic and allegedly spoke to him over Skype to gauge his interest in a move to White Hart Lane. The Tottenham boss is also planning a trip to France at the end of the season to persuade Ayew to sign for him.
The 25-year-old captained Ghana to the final of this year's Africa Cup of Nations, where they were beaten on penalties by Ivory Coast.
Tottenham are also thought to be keen on signing Ayew's Marseille teammate Florian Thauvin.
