Tottenham Hotpur are reportedly contemplating an approach for Barcelona defender Emerson, who is currently plying his trade for Real Betis.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly identified Barcelona defender Emerson as a potential transfer target.

Having failed to find a like-for-like replacement for Kieran Trippier, the North London outfit are expected to be in the market for a new right-back later in 2020.

According to reports in Spain, this has resulted in Spurs considering a move for Emerson, who is currently representing Real Betis.

The 22-year-old is owned by both Barca and Betis, with the Brazilian currently due to remain at the latter until 2021.

However, there is a suggestion that a bid from Spurs could lead to either one or both Spanish teams being open to concluding a deal.

Emerson has contributed three goals and five assists from 23 starts in La Liga during the current campaign.
