Rumoured Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City target Thomas Strakosha is reportedly close to signing a new contract with current club Lazio.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly suffered a blow in their pursuit of Thomas Strakosha, with the goalkeeper closing in on a new contract at current club Lazio.

Spurs are understood to have identified the 25-year-old as a potential successor to Hugo Lloris, while Leicester City have also been credited with an interest in the shot-stopper.

However, Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Strakosha plans to snub interest from the Premier League in order to extend his stay with Lazio.

The Albanian has been an integral member of Lazio's title-chasing team this season, keeping nine clean sheets in 26 Serie A outings.

The capital outfit boast the best defensive record in the division, and that form has now reportedly earned him a new contract in addition to admiring glances from elsewhere.

Strakosha will reportedly double his money as part of the new deal, which will see him past a decade at Lazio, having joined the youth set-up in 2012.
