West Bromwich Albion to step up Federico Fazio interest?

A report claims that West Bromwich Albion are preparing to make an offer for Tottenham Hotspur defender Federico Fazio.

West Bromwich Albion have reportedly decided to firm up their initial approach for Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Federico Fazio.

It is believed that the Baggies contacted Spurs regarding the 28-year-old's availability earlier this summer.

The recent addition of James Chester was thought to have signified the end of manager Tony Pulis's interest in Fazio, but according to the Express & Star, a bid is to be lodged for the Argentine in the near future.

The report adds that Spurs could demand around £6m for a player that cost them £8m when he arrived at White Hart Lane from Sevilla 12 months ago.

Fazio made 25 appearances in all competitions for the Lilywhites last season.
