Sunderland sign Fabio Borini and Andrea Dossena

Sunderland complete the double-signing of Fabio Borini on a season-long loan from Liverpool and Andrea Dossena on a one-year deal from Napoli.

Sunderland have completed the signings of Italy international duo Fabio Borini and Andrea Dossena.

Borini joins the Black Cats on loan until the end of the season after an injury-hit debut year at Liverpool.

The 22-year-old, who was Brendan Rodgers's first signing as Liverpool manager, made 20 appearances for the Reds, scoring two goals.

Andrea Dossena, meanwhile, joins Paolo Di Canio's side on a one-year deal from Napoli having helped the Italian side to a second-placed finish in Serie A last season.

The 31-year-old former Liverpool left-back made 109 appearances for Napoli, scoring three goals.
