Connor Wickham is reportedly on the verge of extending his contract with Sunderland.
The 21-year-old's current deal at the Stadium of Light is due to expire next summer, which had resulted in speculation that he could leave the club in January.
However, an agreement is close to being reached that will see the striker, one of the heroes of Sunderland's survival last term, sign fresh terms on Wearside, according to the Daily Star.
Wickham joined the Black Cats from Ipswich Town for £8m in 2011.
