Swansea City have turned down a £27m bid from Everton for Gylfi Sigurdsson, according to reports.
The 27-year-old midfielder scored nine goals and notched up 13 assists for the Swans last season, proving instrumental in helping them beat relegation.
However, Everton and his former side Tottenham Hotspur have both been linked with a move for the Iceland international amid rumours that he may be tempted by the prospect of playing European football.
According to ESPN, the Toffees have made a bid for Sigurdsson, who signed a four-year contract extension at the Liberty Stadium last summer, but the offer was swiftly rejected as the Swans value their player at £40m.
Sigurdsson, who is also thought to be on the radar of former Premier League champions Leicester City, moved to Swansea from Tottenham in 2014 in a £8.6m deal.
