Former Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder David Beckham turns down the chance to move to Australian side Perth Glory as he will be too far away from his businesses.

Perth Glory owner Tony Sage has revealed that David Beckham has rejected the chance to join the Australian side.

The 37-year-old is in the hunt for a new club after deciding to leave Los Angeles Galaxy after five years in the MLS, but Sage believes that Beckham will not consider a move Down Under.

"I got the chance to chat to David and of course I asked him about coming to Australia," Sage told footballaustralia.com.au. "He looked me in the eye and basically said, 'That would be nice, but it's too far away from my businesses'.

"It would have been great to have him at Perth Glory, but it looks like that won't be happening. I just don't think he'll be coming to Australia, full stop."

Beckham has been linked with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco.
