Marcelino Garcia Toral disappointed with Villarreal

Villarreal boss Marcelino Garcia Toral criticises his team for their 2-0 defeat to Athletic Bilbao on Monday.

Villarreal boss Marcelino Garcia Toral has admitted that Monday's 2-0 loss to Athletic Bilbao was the club's worst performance of the season.

The Yellow Submarine still sit fourth in La Liga following an impressive start, but they were beaten on Monday as goals from Mikel Rico and Aritz Aduriz secured the points for Bilbao.

"We are sad because we arrived here at this scenario with much optimism and we have not played a good game," Marcelino told reporters at a press conference.

"It has been one of the worst since I have been here. I believe it has been a bad day overall. Today, we lost fairly.

"We had no luck in two minutes to concede the goals, whilst the red card for Bruno has left the game as good as over."

Bruno was dismissed on the stroke of half time after receiving a second yellow card.
