Watford have beaten 10-man Nottingham Forest 2-0 through two first-half Matej Vydra goals.
Forest started the brighter side and had an early chance from an Andy Reid corner, but Danny Collins nodded it just wide.
It was then Watford's turn as Marco Cassetti fizzed in a dangerous low cross, but no-one could get the vital touch.
However, in the 16th minute the hosts were ahead when Almen Abdi slipped Matej Vydra in, who slotted low for the opener.
Forest started to control the possession but it was their goalkeeper Lee Camp who was tested next as he tipped wide from a strike from distance by Daniel Pudil.
With a few minutes of the half left Daniel Ayala was sent off for his second bookable offence, before the same combination as the first goal linked up for Watford to double their lead.
Cassetti had the first couple of chances in the second half; first a shot was blocked by Collins before he fired the rebound well over.
The 10 men of Forest were struggling to break through and Watford put another half-chance over, this time from Pudil.
Billy Sharp had the best chance of the half for the visitors but dragged a shot wide when well-placed.
However, Watford held on for a comfortable three points.
