The agent of West Brom's Zoltan Gera has revealed that the Hungarian has undergone successful knee surgery.
Gera will miss the rest of the Baggies season after being stretchered off in West Brom's 3-1 defeat to Spurs last weekend.
"The surgery was successful so Zoltan can start his rehabilitation in the near future," Vladan Filipovics told NSO.
"An outstanding medical team are monitoring his recovery but it is not yet known when he can come back."
He added: "After an injury like this a six-month absence is the minimum period for recovery. Realistically he may only return to full fitness for next summer's preparations."
The midfielder began his career in England with West Brom in 2004 and rejoined the Baggies in August following a three-year spell with Fulham.
