Alan Irvine: 'No Saido Berahino approaches'

West Bromwich Albion have had no approaches to sign striker Saido Berahino, according to head coach Alan Irvine.

West Bromwich Albion head coach Alan Irvine has insisted that the club have received no approaches regarding the availability of Saido Berahino.

It had been claimed in recent days that the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool were considering January moves for the 21-year-old.

However, Irvine has described reports that negotiations have already taken place with potential suitors as "speculation".

"We have had no enquiries for Saido. Any stories saying otherwise are no more than speculation," he told reporters.

Berahino has scored eight goals in his 20 outings this season.
