Tony Pulis: 'West Bromwich Albion want to keep Saido Berahino'

West Bromwich Albion want to keep troubled striker Saido Berahino at the club in the January transfer window, according to Baggies boss Tony Pulis.

West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis has claimed that his club "would love" to keep Saido Berahino beyond the end of the January transfer window.

The 22-year-old was continually linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, but the Baggies refused to part with the Englishman.

It has been a difficult first half to the season for the striker, who Pulis revealed was "lucky to be on the bench" for the clash with Newcastle United on Monday after another in-house incident.

Pulis has said that his club want to keep the controversial attacker, but has admitted that a sale could occur if Berahino's price-tag is met.

"It's the window so everybody is talking about his future again, which we've had for three windows now," Pulis told reporters.

"The club would love to keep him. It's like selling a house. If someone comes along and makes an offer that's too good to turn down, you don't turn it down. But three parties have to agree it – that's the two clubs and the kid. If it happens I'm sure you'll be well informed."

Berahino has only scored three Premier League goals this season.
