Joe Cole has admitted that he is pleased with his return to the West Ham United side following Saturday's 2-2 draw with Manchester United in the FA Cup.

The 31-year-old, who joined on a free transfer from Liverpool on Friday, created both of his team's goals in the third-round tie at Upton Park.

"It was a nice return for me," Cole told ITV Sport. "I don't like all the fuss, I just want to get out and play football and it was nice to get out, be involved and get minutes under my belt.

"I still feel I need a few more games, but it was nice to get out there."

Cole graduated from the West Ham academy in 1998, but he left for Chelsea in 2003.
