West Ham United midfielder Jack Wilshere to miss at least a month?

West Ham United midfielder Jack Wilshere could reportedly be absent until the end of January with an ankle injury.

West Ham United have reportedly discovered that Jack Wilshere could miss at least another five weeks of action.

Wilshere recently made his return after a three-month absence, but the 26-year-old has not featured since his late outing against Newcastle United on December 1.

West Ham had hoped that rest would solve Wilshere's current ankle issue, but according to The Mirror, the playmaker has already been ruled out for the Christmas period.

The report suggests that Wilshere could remain on the sidelines for a total of five weeks if the club's medical staff decide that surgery is the best option.

The England international has played just 339 minutes of football since signing for the Hammers on a free transfer in the summer.
