Sam Allardyce: 'West Ham United showed great character'

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce believes that his side showed "great character" to come from behind to earn a draw with Hull City.

Sam Allardyce has said that West Ham United showed "great character" to come from behind twice to earn a draw with Hull City in the Premier League this evening.

Enner Valencia and a Curtis Davies own goal ensured that the Hammers came away with a 2-2 draw at the KC Stadium.

The manager told Sky Sports News: "It was a bit hair raising for me when you go down twice and probably don't deserve to, especially the second one when [Mohamed] Diame scored having just joined them. But we showed great character, I did not think there was much between the two teams.

"What a goal by Enner Valencia, I think everyone has seen now why we have bought him. I was up and ready to start dancing, which is not a pleasing sight, had the one gone in at the death. But we respect the point, it was a very good performance by the team who will only get better as they get to know each other more."

West Ham face Liverpool at the weekend.
