Slaven Bilic: 'I expected equaliser'

Slaven Bilic admits that he thought an equaliser would arrive in West Ham United's 2-1 loss to Leicester City.

West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has admitted that he was surprised his side did not find a second-half equaliser in the 2-1 loss to Leicester City at Upton Park.

The hosts were behind at the break to goals from Shinji Okazaki and Riyad Mahrez, but Dimitri Payet reduced the deficit 10 minutes into the second half.

However, a frantic finish did not bring the goal the home fans were hoping for as Hammers goalkeeper Adrian picked up a red card after going up for a corner in stoppage time.

"We lost the game in the first half. 2-0 down is very difficult to come back from. We are very disappointed," Bilic told reporters.

"We scored a goal early enough in the second half to play our normal game but with more aggression. I was expecting us to score a second, but we didn't."

The Hammers return to action against Bournemouth next Saturday.
