Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez has blasted Norwich City for 'targeting' James McCarthy during their clash at Carrow Road.
The midfielder was forced to withdraw after a picking up an ankle injury following a tackle by Bradley Johnson during Wigan's 2-1 defeat.
"It was an infuriating moment and something you don't want to see," Martinez told BBC Radio Manchester.
"Clearly he was targeted. They got away with it. You don't want to see players injured in such a ruthless manner."
Wigan currently sit in the bottom three of the Premier League table.
