James McArthur: Wigan Athletic can escape relegation

James McArthur believes that Wigan Athletic can once again escape from the relegation zone if they improve their home form.

Wigan Athletic midfielder James McArthur has claimed that the club can survive in the Premier League this season.

Roberto Martinez's side are currently 19th in the table but McArthur is sure that his side can escape from the relegation zone.

The midfielder told the Wigan Evening Post: "I've always believed we can get out of trouble, and if we can keep pushing each other on there's no reason why we can't.

"We need to pick up our home form, but we just need that little bit of luck in front of goal.

"Our last seven performances - apart from Swansea - have been outstanding, we've been putting teams under major pressure and creating loads of chances."

Martinez's team host Stoke City at the DW Stadium on Saturday.
