Wigan Athletic midfielder James McArthur claims that his teammates need to change little about their style of play in order to avoid relegation.

Wigan Athletic midfielder James McArthur has claimed that his teammates need to change little about their style of play in order to avoid relegation.

The Latics are currently 19th in the Premier League table after one win in their last six matches.

"We just need to keep performing the way we have been doing, keep creating the chances and hopefully next time a few more will go in," McArthur told the Wigan Evening Post. "We want to move up that table and prove everyone wrong.

"It was exactly the same last year, everyone wrote us off and said we were down, and that wasn't the case.

"Hopefully this year will be the same."

Wigan next travel to Liverpool in the league on Saturday.
