Wolverhampton Wanderers are expected to interview former Sunderland boss Steve Bruce as they continue their search for a new manager.
The Premier League side have been in hot pursuit of a successor to Mick McCarthy, who was sacked from Molinuex on Monday.
While Alan Curbishley remains the stand-out candidate to take over in the West Midlands, it is understood that club owner Steve Morgan and chief executive Jez Moxey are prepared to consider Bruce for the vacancy.
The 51-year-old is believed to have devised a plan that outlines how the bottom-three club can avoid relegation this season.
Former Queens Park Rangers manager Neil Warnock has also been linked to the position.
