Sam Tomkins is confident that England can do something "special" at this year's World Cup.

Sam Tomkins is confident that England can succeed in the World Cup later this year.

The nation, who have previously struggled against New Zealand and Australia, are due to take on the Exiles in Warrington on Friday as an early warm-up fixture.

"I think the Exiles are a massive part of our preparation, certainly with the World Cup not too far away we need to get as many intense sessions together as we can," Tomkins told Sky Sports News.

"There are only so many times we can do that in training. It'll be the last game we play before we crack onto the World Cup. I think the World Cup is a massive chance for us to show what we can really do. You look at the squad that we've got here this week. We've got a good chance of doing something special."

The tournament gets underway in October.
