Wakefield Wildcats have beaten Hull KR 31-30 in a thriller at New Craven Park.
The Wildcats took an early lead through a Ben Cockayne score in the sixth minute only for Hull to respond with two tries from teenager Liam Salter and one from Graeme Horne, leaving the score at 14-4.
Peter Fox pulled back a try for the Wildcats just before half time but Hull went into the break 14-8 up.
The second half began in lively style as Wakefield struck early again in the through Frankie Mariano to level the score at 14-14.
The Wildcats's comeback continued as scores from Cockayne and Dean Collis regained the lead for Wakefield at 26-14.
Ben Galea levelled the scores once again with a 64th minute try and the teams once again exchanged scores in the last 10 minutes as the match looked set to finish 30-30.
A last minute drop-goal from the Wildcats's Paul Skykes was enough for the Wildcats to snatch victory and keep their hopes of a top eight finish alive.
