Sale Sharks 10-24 Harlequins

Harlequins finish the season in top spot after a 24-10 victory over Sale Sharks in the final round.

Sale Sharks tasted defeat in their last ever game at Edgeley Park as Harlequins secured top spot with a 24-10 win.

After Nick Evans missed an early penalty for Harlequins, they took the lead through a 21st-minute try from Daniel Care and Evans made no mistake with the conversion.

Tom Bell brought the home side back into the game with a penalty on 31 minutes.

A penalty from Evans on 38 minutes helped Harlequins restore their advantage before a Mike Brown try extended their lead just before half time.

The sides went in at half time with the scores at 15-3.

Two penalties in the opening 10 minutes of the second half were dispatched by Evans to give the away side a healthy 21-3 lead.

However, a spirited Sharks side hit back on 57 minutes with a try from Will Addison.

A penalty from Evans on 73 minutes made the scores 24-10 in Harlequins' favour, and they saw out the game to secure the win and finish the season in top spot.
