Dan Carter has admitted that he is desperate to sign off in style as New Zealand prepare to begin the defence of the World Cup.
Despite playing such a key role for the All Blacks over the years, Carter was restricted to just two pool games four years ago before a groin injury prevented him from helping his team to victory.
The 33-year-old will retire from international duty at the end of the tournament, and the fly-half is determined to make an impact in his final games with New Zealand.
"This is the last time that I'll put on the All Black jersey," Carter told reporters. "I just want to make the most of it.
"I'll do whatever I can to help this All Blacks side go as far as possible."
New Zealand begin their campaign against Argentina on Sunday.
