Northampton have extended their unbeaten run to two games following a 44-15 win over Newcastle at Franklin's Gardens.
Saints fly-half Ryan Lamb put his side ahead after a second-minute penalty. Newcastle's Jimmy Gopperth responded in the fifth minute, before a couple of Tom May tries restored and extended Northampton's lead to 12 points.
However, Gopperth added a couple of penalties and a drop goal before the half to reduce the deficit to just three points.
Lamb's second penalty of the game added to Vasily Artemyev's two tries to put the home side ahead by 18 immediately after the break. Gopperth's fourth penalty of the game pulled their lead back to 15 on the hour mark, before a pair of Chris Aston tries put the result beyond doubt.
