Number two seed Petra Kvitova has booked her place in the semi-finals of the Australian Open after a 6-4 6-4 win over Italian Sara Errani.
Errani started the match brightly but Kvitova eventually broke the Italian to take the opener.
The second set proved to be a much more difficult challenge for Kvitova, as the surprise package Errani raced into a 4-0 lead.
However, Kvitova responded to Errani's comeback and the Wimbledon champion won six games in a row to ensure she reached the semi-finals of the tournament for the first time.
