Andy Murray sets up a potential semi-final meeting with Rafael Nadal with a three-set victory over Janko Tipsarevic in Miami.

Andy Murray was forced to come from a set down to secure a berth in the Sony Ericsson Open semi-finals with a 4-6 6-3 6-4 win over Janko Tipsarevic.

The British number one started slowly and dropped the first game, but broke back immediately when Tipsarevic missed a cross-court forehand to surrender his own serve.

The first set then went with serve until the sixth game, when there was another exchange of breaks in a sloppy start to the match.

Serbian Tipsarevic took control when he broke Murray for a third time in the ninth game and then, when serving for the match, produced an ace to clinch the game and the first set 6-3.

Murray's problems on serve continued as Tipsarevic claimed the first game of the second set, and there were more concerns for the Scot when he called for the trainer moments later.

His stomach complaints weren't enough to stop him levelling the match at a set apiece. The world number four broke his opponent on the next three opportunities before hitting a forehand winner to claim the second 6-4.

Murray produced his best tennis of the match in the third set and broke early to take control. After poor displays in the first two sets, the Scot started to serve more convincingly, rarely giving Tipsarevic a chance to break back.

With the momentum in his favour, Murray served out to beat the Serbian and set up a last-four clash with either Jo Wilfried-Tsonga or Rafael Nadal.
