Venus Williams has advanced to the second round of the Prudential Hong Kong Tennis Open with a three-set victory over Yuliya Beygelzimer.
The veteran American had to come from a set down to beat her Ukranian opponent in two-and-a-quarter hours.
Beygelzimer dominated the opening set with a pair of breaks to claim it 6-2, but that was as good as it got for the world number 199.
Williams won the second 6-4 to level the match and then edged a topsy-turvy third set, in which there were just three holds of serve, by the same scoreline.
Williams, seeded third at the tournament, will face Yafan Wang in the last 16.
